Rebates

Your well-being takes center stage

While a referral isn’t obligatory, attending MLA Psychology without one means that you might be missing out on potential rebates.

Delve into the funding and support avenues we offer:

MEDICARE REBATE

Medicare Rebates Medicare rebates are accessible through a Mental Health Care Plan from a General Practitioner, Psychiatrist, or Pediatrician. Initial access provides six sessions, extendable to ten sessions following a review from your GP. You can access a total of 10 rebatable sessions per calendar year.

On receipt of your referral, MLA Psychology can process your Medicare rebate after your appointment has completed. Rebates generally take 1-2 working days to go into your account.

Consult your doctor for a Mental Health Care Plan.

NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME - NDIS

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) MLA Psychology is a provider for NDIS participants. If you’re using NDIS funding, simply bring your plan to your appointment. Our team tailors services to match your goals and requirements. We accept clients with Psychology funding that are either plan or self managed.

What is NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing individualised support for eligible people with a permanent and significant disability, their families, and carers. This includes mental health and early intervention for children (ages 6 and under).

Who can access the NDIS?

If you are aged under 65 years and have a permanent and significant disability, you may be eligible for NDIS services. To become an NDIS participant you must satisfy each of the following conditions through an assessment that will be conducted by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

Disability requirement

You have a permanent disability that significantly affects your ability to take part in everyday activities, such as dressing, showering, cleaning your house, or travelling around your community

Age requirement

You are aged less than 65 years when you register for the NDIS

Residency requirement

You are an Australian citizen, hold a permanent visa, or have a Protected Special Category visa

NDIS Eligibility

In order to start receiving NDIS services you need to have your eligibility assessed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

NDIA may ask you to provide information about your disability, development delay, or early intervention requirements. This may include providing copies of existing letters, assessments or reports from health or educational professionals that detail your impairment and its impact on your daily life.
For further information on NDIS eligibility or to apply, contact the NDIS below:

DEPARTMENT OF VETRIANS AFFAIRS - DVA

If you are a member or family member of the military community you may be
eligible for DVA assistance.

The best way to check this is to contact DVA and determine whether they will provide funding for psychological services.

PRIVATE HEALTH REBATES

Private Health Rebates Private Health rebates vary based on your provider and coverage. If you possess Private Health Insurance with extras cover, you could be eligible for rebates. Directly contact your health fund for insights into your rebate potential.

Please Note: You cannot use both Medicare and Private Health on the same appointment. This means you cannot use Medicare and then claim the difference on private health insurance. It is either one or the other.
